The Langhe yields the Nebbiolo grapes that make the extraordinary Barolo and Barbaresco wines, recognized among the most prestigious red wines in the world. The land of Asti and the hills of Monferrato bear Barbera, Freisa and Grignolino, local varieties that have found their highest qualitative expressions here.
