L’arneis è il più celebre vitigno del Roero, il comprensorio collinare adagiato sulla riva sinistra del Tanaro, dalla parte opposta delle Langhe. Un bianco secco, fresco e profumato, armonico ed equilibrato, che si esprime con intense note di frutta bianca e piacevoli sentori di mandorla. Elegante, piacevolmente minerale, dal portamento nobile, estremamente fine: è ottimo come aperitivo, ma si abbina perfettamente a tutti i piatti di pesce: cruditè e carpacci, polpo ai ferri, crostacei, fritture. Predilige le carni bianche e i formaggi ed è ottimo per accompagnare piatti di base di verdure.
Arneis is the most famous grape of Roero, the hilly area on the left bank of the Tanaro River, on the opposite side of the Langhe. A dry white wine, fresh and fragrant, characterized by harmony and balance, expressed by intense notes of white fruit and pleasant hints of almond. Elegant, pleasantly mineral, noble, extremely fine: it is excellent as an aperitif, but it goes perfectly with all fish-based dishes: raw vegetables and carpaccio, grilled octopus, crustaceans, and fried dishes. It prefers white meats and cheeses and is excellent with vegetable-based dishes.
